What is Flat Roof Insulation?

Here at Projects4Renewables, we pride oursleves on providing our customers with products that are designed to last. We use RubberBond FleeceBack technology to finish and insulate your flat roof, a BBA approved and much stronger product than a non-fleeceback alternative, leaving rivals behind. Comprised of two layers laminated together, this 2.6mm membrane makes your flat roof 80% more resistant to punctures and 180% more resistance to tears than your standard 1.2mm non-fleeced EPDM.

How does RubberBond FleeceBack work?

Projects4Renewables installs an insulated RubberBond FleeceBack warm flat roof that comes with a 50 year guarentee. On average, it takes us 2 days to complete the project however, this may vary depending on the size of your flat roof.

The principle thermal insulation layer in a warm roof is installed above the structural decking which in turn means that the structural deck and support structure is at a temperature close to that of the interior of the building. Therefore, a vapour control layer must be installed beneath the insulation in order to prevent thermal pressure causing moisture vapour to be pushed into the insulation. Then, to protect the insulation from exterior weather conditions, waterproofing membranes are placed over the insulation before our RubberBond FleeceBack is adhered directly on top.

This way of installing an insulated flat roof will leave you with an additional 150mm - 200mm on top of your original roof height which will be finished with a UPVC fascia board that is maintenance free.
